Today one of my best friends Raul celebrates his birthday. He’s a scholar, a social media maven, a supporter of the Arts, a supporter of the environment, and an all around nice guy!
It’s so rare you meet someone in your life these days that has such integrity, loyalty and love for all his friends.
Though this post might be short and sweet, I wanted to personally wish Raul the best birthday today!
Happy Birthday Raul, or as the world might know you – Hummingbird604.
It’s not so often in one’s life when you meet someone that is truly special and you become great friends with. That one person is Raul Pacheaco-Vega (aka @Hummingbird604 in the social media space) and today he celebrates his birthday.
This past Friday he celebrated his birthday with some of his closes friends and it truly was a celebration with a huge turn out. In true Raul fashion he made sure all his guests were happy and made sure he connected with each and every single person, a true feat for some, but natural for Raul. It was great to see such a turn out and connect with some people I haven’t seen in sometime.
So today on his official birthday (yeah the Friday party confused me 
) I wanted to wish Raul the best of birthdays. I know he will be spending it with the ones he loves.

In this day and age when everyone and everyone’s mother has a blog, it’s always great to acknowledge those that have been blogging for sometime and do it very well. Last night Raul Pacheco-Vega, or as he is more commonly known in the social media space – Hummingbird604, celebrated his 4th year of blogging.
This man started off with only having a few readers, mainly his mother and family, and has grown his personal brand to over 1,000 readers daily. I’m in awe of how many posts this man can come up with in a day, the flow of constant ideas are something I strive to live up to.
He really is a passionate man and is very passionate about his content.
It was great to be apart of the festivities last night and below is short speech, directly from Raul himself, about the last 4 years of blogging.

Today is a special day. Today is a good friend of mine’s birthday. Here in the Vancouver Social Media / Tech community we know him as @Hummingbird604 aka Dr. Raul Pacheco-Vega! (yeah I threw in the “Dr.” for good measure).
I’ve known Raul for over 2 years and our friendship has grown so much since then. Raul gives his all, he puts so much into his environmental issues, his writing, his social media skill and his friendships. Raul is the type of person that you can depend on when you need him. He will drop everything to help and support his friends. That shows a lot of character and I truly admire him. He might overdue it and exhaust himself from time to time, but it shows he truly has a big heart.
He’s also been helping Russ (and myself for the matter) practice his Spanish skills.
On this special birthday I’m sure we’ll hang out later for drink at Score, since he organized his own RaulCamp .
