Ahh yes, what would spring without another birthday in my family.
Today is my middle – or as she likes to be called “younger” (even though she is older than me) sister Maria’s birthday. It was great that she was able to fly over to Vancouver for her first trip last month and be here for my birthday, but alas I am not there to help her celebrate her birthday today.
Being so close in age (only 2 years separate us), we always didn’t behave nicely towards each other. There were times I remember fighting for room on the couch and kicking each other, throwing things at her, yelling at her, typical brother and sister stuff. But then we grew older and things changed. I began to respect her. She has become one of the most honest and trusted people I know. She has 3 wonderful children, 2 dogs, 1 cat (or is 2 now), 1 bunny (or at least the last time I checked she did), and not to mention a husband. It isn’t above her to make sure that her loved ones are taken care of and willing to go the extra mile for anyone.
So Maria, have an amazing birthday today. You are an amazing woman and I’m proud to have you as my sister!
