On the 11th hour of 11th day on the 11th month in 1918 Remembrance Day was marked. This is the day where we honour our fallen soldiers who have died while protecting freedom, protecting country, and protecting peace. We honour all the veterans out there who have fought in the wars. They will not be forgotten for what they have done.
We may not all agree with war, we may not all feel comfortable with our governments, but we respect the men and women in our military services for continuing to keep us safe.
In Flander’s Field
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.— Lt.-Col. John McCrae (1872 – 1918)
