My coworker Dory, also president of the Westend Community Centre, let me know that the centre will be hosting their 4th annual visual art show called Art in the City this coming weekend. There will be 50 artist showcasing their talents from paintings, drawings to photography.
This Friday, May 1, will be their official kick off in the evening between 7pm – 9pm.
You can enter to win a painting from Dylan Schultz, their featured artist, titled “Urban Legend”
Dylan Schultz’s powerful and intriguing works of art stimulate the mind and provoke thought. They are touching, stirring and pertinent. His urban work often evokes a strong emotional response. The paintings are very familiar, and very Vancouver.
The Westend Community Centre is located at 870 Denman Street and admission is free.
I will try to attend and who knows, I might walk away with a new piece of artwork.
