@sah - Just wear something comfortable. When I interviewed I just wore jeans. They are looking at your interaction and enthusiasm.

this might be a stupid questions but what did people wear to the "creating team 2010" interview? its a volunteer position so i'm thinking a dress shirt and dress pants might be over the top...

Didn't know 2010 was happening there. That must mean 2009 has been decided. I guess I'm out of that loop. I'm dropping by from Netchick's.

Thanks for the comments all. I was going to blog about my experience, but looks like we have some great comments here.

@Lynn you had the same experience as I did. I think it gave us all the chance to see what building "Team 2010" is like and give us an insight on what will be required of us.

@Shirley you will have a great time, meet new people and get to share in the passion.

I was interviewed for events, though I was in a group with media relations. I put my name in there during my interview as well as I work for a newswire company and think it will be great as well.

If you are volunteering for Events, which begin January 2009, you should find out if you are accepted by late this year and early next year. They asked us to keep a look out for an email and log into the Volunteer website and check "your calendar" from time to time.

I had my face to face interview a couple of months ago. It was pretty interesting. As you arrive you are given a name tag and then directed to the RCMP table where you hand in your police check form and show your ID. Then we were taken into a large room and shown a video about past olympic volunteer experiences. Then we split into 2 groups and had some interactive exercises which were kind of fun. We were further split into smaller groups of 2-3 and then had to match up venues with the sporting events. They gave us a really nice binder full of olympic volunteering stuff and gave us a commemorative pin and sticker of the mascots. It all ended up with a tear jerker of a short film. Oh yeah - we also had one on one interviews as well with their staff. They asked pretty much the same thing that they did on the long phone interview. I was also asked about a leadership role, which I was fine with. I just hope I get a call back saying I'm in!! There's about twice as many volunteers as positions available. I hope yours goes well! I do think they could have easily done this interview in about 2 hours but all in all it was an interesting experience! :) I look forward to seeing what yours was like. Mine wasn't at the PNE, it was at their office out by the Burnaby/Vancouver border. Best wishes!
