Vancouver Canary Derby

Last night when I was attending the BCTIA’s IMPACT Speaker series, they were promoting the 1st Annual Vancouver Canary Derby.

On September 21st Tech Companies will “Race to the Steamclock” in Gastown to raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation.

Vancouver technology companies are being challenged to design and build soap box cars that will be raced by CEOs to raise money for the Canary Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding early cancer detection and intervention.

Participating teams can be found here and you can donate to the BC Cancer Foundation here.

Time trials begin at 9am with qualifying races starting at 11am.  The final heat will start at 2pm.  Sounds like it will be a fun event.
