The Sandal Dilemma

Ok I have big feet, I admit that, but this weekend that was put to the test like no other weekend before.

I have been in the need of new sandals/flip-flops and I have been trying to find a good pair that not only looks good, but has a nice arch for support. I currently have 2 pairs, but one is showing it’s age and the other is just too flat that if I walk for long periods of time my feet start to hurt and ache.

I have gone to all the stores at Pacific Centre Mall and couldn’t find a pair. Granted I found many that I liked, but just couldn’t fit my wide big feet. I’ve tried Aldos, Feet First, and others, but nada.

On Saturday I walked along 4th around Burrard checking out the sporting stores in hopes that I would find a pair of great sandals/flip-flops. I saw so many great styles, but still nothing that would fit my wide feet. Either they didn’t make my size (which is only a size 11), or they were just too small. My hands couldn’t even get past the strap.

I don’t know if it is just me, but I have a feeling sizes are just getting smaller and smaller.

I haven’t given up hope just yet, but I’m hoping I could find something soon or else this summer will have me wearing running shoes instead (GASP!).

You should check out Reef sandals! (i posted it about it last week or something) and they had Arch supports! Granted you may not want to pay $60 for the ones with the bottle openers but there is a store on the corner of Davie and Deman that have them for guys (my feet are size 11 and a bit wide). They are really comfy and I paid $30 for them. Should last a really long time too!

    Hey Tyler,
Thanks for the info. I’ll definitely check them out sometime this week. Would be nice to find a good pair and I’m not worried about spending $60 if they are what I want and will last :)
